Data sources:

  • Green / Yellow - EPA CyAN satellite readings at 46°59'31"N, 122°46'18"W - https://qed.epa.gov/cyanweb/ This is a satellite based system and updates can vary from days to weeks depending on weather and time of year. Example: Overcast days block the system from measuring levels on Pattison Lake. Green or Yellow status only show algae in the lake and do not indicate if there is toxic algae present.

  • Orange / Red - Washington State Department of Ecology and Washington State Toxic Algae Page: https://www.nwtoxicalgae.org/. These status are updated based on physical water testing of Pattison Lake. The testing done by the state is the only way to tell if the algae tested is toxic.
